Maybe my sons had many pleasures at their pre-school, but snow
didN7t lie thick on the ground.

First half of this week, I was token with my colleagues to my welcome party.
The restaurant is a kind of French, it's so tasty that all of us drunk much,
We ware 10 people, wines and
champagnes opened.
I think it's too much for general Japanese.

oh, I changed my cell-phone to iphone. That camera's quality is very bad than camera of Japanese cellphone . It's really pity.

See you!

Some of Japanese custom of new year

I often recieve mails that they enjoy to know about Japanese culture. So I explain some of Japanese culture about the new year.

Oomisoka means the day before 1st of Jan, and Ganjitu means 1st of January.
And Gantan mean between the night of Oomisoka and the morning of Ganjitu.
And we spend to be watching tv program that is called Kouhaku-Utagassen and Yukutoshi-Kurutoshi at night of Oomisoka. I had a work Kohaku, so I couldn't spend with my family at Oomisoka.
Hatsuhinode is the first sunrise of the year. It's happy thing that we can watch Hatsuhinode, so we go to watch Hatsuhinode. But I didn't go this year.
And Hatumoude is the first prayer of the year. So we went temple to pray something at Gantan or the next day of Gantan. I went near temple and I prayed and wished my children grow up well.
And Osechi is a name of dishes for new year. There is a custom not to cook for mother's rest between 1st and 3rd in January. So mothers prepare Osechi before the new year, and we eat only Osechi between 1st and 3rd in January. But acutually I hate to have same foods for 3 days , so we have some other foods :)
Koma and Tako are familiar with play of new year. Playing Tako need large space without electric wires, therefore it's a little difficule to play Tako around my house. My sons played that at my wife's parent house, and this morning my elder son was playing koma with his classmates at preschool.

Bus at Tokyo

I and my elder son took a bus to his school of swimming. The bus is a so useful way to transport to other place at Tokyo. But mainly we use to transport by subway because of it's very useful. Inside 23 wards at Tokyo, the cost of most bus is fixed amount. So we pay for our fare when we get on, don't pay it when we get off. And we can use cash and some of electronic money that called suica and pasmo. Suica and pasmo are very useful with life in Tokyo, so you had better you buy it when you visit to Tokyo. You can buy it by ticket-vending machine of JR or Subway

Yuzuyu

The winter solstice is a day that the sun is lowest in the northern hemisphere, so it's the shortest day of hours of sunshine there. In Japan, there is a custom to take a bath with yuzu that day. It's called "YUZUYU", It is good to reject catching a cold and is good perfume. So I bought one yuzu and put it into my bathtab. I was sutisfied to make YUZUYU, and my sons were with Japanese old custom. But I know it now googled to write this post, it's better to use a lot of yuzu. It becomes better smells and many effects. Next Year, I'll maybe buy a lot of yuzu.

New headset

I used a analog wired headset for both ears. It was a cheap but a good for me excepting I had be able to hear only in front of my PC. The other day, I bought a new little headset at Amazon, that was wireless and used the feature of bluetooth. Yesterday I tried it.
I thought It was pretty good, but it had some difference between the old headset and the new one. Fiest of all, it is a defference of the sound quality . The sounds of the old one is high quality and has no noise, but the new one has a little noise, and its sound is a little delayed. The next difference is about the battery. I have to take care the new one about the rest of battery, it's troublesome for me.
At last, this is the most important reason, the new one is for one ear, not for both of ears. I'm bad at hearing English, so I cannot hear with one ear well. I had better I choosed a headset for two ears.
I want to bacome using this new headset without unconvinience some day.

Kaiten-zushi de bounenkai

I had looked Kaiten-zushi in Paris last year, so I think it's known to the world(is it true?). There is a big machine like a belt conveyer, that turns around a lot of plates of sushi, and you can get plates that you want to eat. I was so full that I ate 10 plates and one soup of aonori. It was very good taste, I enjoyed it.

Today's lunch is Soba

Today, I found a good mood soba restaurant when I was walking at Akasaka. All on a sudden I became to want to eat soba, I decided to get a something to eat at that restaurant.
I got in and saw around, so small room, there are only 3 tables and only 14 chairs. It was crowded and there is no empty chair. So I waited at the entrance for a while.
After I sat my seat, I made a order "Rororo soba" that is ¥1000 . Umeboshi and quail's egg and scissors for quail's egg are on the table.
Soba of this restaurant was a little green, it's a little odd but very delicious soba.

Taking a little trip for asakusa(2)

Next day(Sunday), Two famillies went to 浅草(Asakusa) at 台東区(Taito-Ward) by Yurakucho-line. The train run over 墨田川(Sumida gawa. Sumida river). Asakusa is famous traditional town in Tokyo, We call these area to "下町 Shitamachi" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shitamachi).

There are many famous place in Asakusa. We went to 雷門(Kaminari mon) of 浅草寺(Senso-ji). and saw it. I have seen a 提灯(Chotin) of Kaminari-mon once time. But I glance at it before chance because I was busy then, so this is a first time for to watch it.

Senso-ji is the oldest temple in Tokyo now (This is a new for me :) ). There is 仲見世(Nakamise) between Kaminari-mon and 本堂(Hondo. the main hall of Senso-ji). Theare are many many shops and smoll restaurants, and Nakamise is so crouded by the people. We went under Kaminari-mon, through the Nakamise, bought 人形焼き(Ningyoyaki) like 饅頭(Manjyu), wathed how to create Ningyoyaki, were going to go to Hondo.

There is in front of Hondo, Many burned 線香(senko, sticks of incense) made there bellows of smoke. There is superstition that pushing this smoke to your bad point make you better.I did so, I'm going to be more smart :).

I arrived at Hondo, went into it, I did お参り(omairi). I threw 5 yen into 賽銭箱(saisen bako. the offertory box). Many people had did so, and it is crowded.

We went out, and were going to find a restaurant to eat and to drink. but every resraurants were full for us because we were big group, 4 adults and 3 children.
We were so hungry, but children run around us and were very excited. After a quarter of an hour, we found a restaurant at last.

To be continued...

Taking a little trip for asakusa.

I went to my friend's home at Suturday and saw the sights of Asakusa at Sunday, and came home.I taked many pictures, and saw around Asakusa, so I think I'll write these topics for the time being.

At the first, I'm going to write about our friends and something we did.
They lived in Kitasenjyu that is rightest place in Tokyo and Kitasenjyu is a little no sefe(In Japan, it isnot so diffelence about safe and no safe).

The friends that are very good and very funny :) are a family who has the father, the mother who had been old friend with my wife, the daughther. The father and the mather has digrees of arts, so I think their house is so artful.

When we went to them, the father worked out. So there were the mother and the daughter who were having a nap.
We went to Sentou(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sent%C5%8D) after we talked a little time. We don't go to Sento usually, but I think many of Japanese like sento and onsen(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onsen).

Do you know Sentou and do you like Sento? Please go to sento If you'll come to Japan. The sentou worker(the receptionist is called "Bantou 番頭") can't speak English probably, and there is the separete room for man and woman, and there are many local custom, so I encourage you go to Sento with same sex. and We have a strenge custom that we drink the coffee milk after bath o
f sento, I don't know the detail, but I want to drink it. this time, I drunk Chuhai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuhai)

After Sento, We bought the Yakitori(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakitori), other foods, Syochu(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shochu), and I returned thier house.

I think I want to return to main topic, but this is a little long for a topic.so I wrote the rest of this story next time .

thanks and see you again.
