Seijin-no-hi

昨日は日本は休日でした。大人（２０歳）になることを祝う日で、成人の日と言います。昔は、１月の１５日でしたが、ハッピーマンデー制度が施行されたため、１月１５日の前の月曜に移動されました。成人式と呼ばれる祝賀会が各都市で開催され、着物を着た２０歳の人達が参加します。

Mukashiha, 1gatu no 15nichi deshitaga, Happy Monday seidoga sekousareta tame, 1gatu 15nichino maeno getsuyouni idou saremashita. Seijinshiki to yobareru syukugakaiga kakutoshide kaisaisare, kimonowo kita 20sai no hitotatiga sanka shimasu.


Yesterday was holiday in Japan. It's a day to celebrate to be adults(20 years old), this day is named "Seijin no hi". In the past, it was on the 15th of January, but a regulation of Happy Monday was enforced, the day moved to Monday before 15th of Jan. The celebration ceremonies that called "seijin shiki" were token place at every cities, and 20-year-old people who get dressed up in kimono take part in it.

Some of Japanese custom of new year

I often recieve mails that they enjoy to know about Japanese culture. So I explain some of Japanese culture about the new year.

Oomisoka means the day before 1st of Jan, and Ganjitu means 1st of January.
And Gantan mean between the night of Oomisoka and the morning of Ganjitu.
And we spend to be watching tv program that is called Kouhaku-Utagassen and Yukutoshi-Kurutoshi at night of Oomisoka. I had a work Kohaku, so I couldn't spend with my family at Oomisoka.
Hatsuhinode is the first sunrise of the year. It's happy thing that we can watch Hatsuhinode, so we go to watch Hatsuhinode. But I didn't go this year.
And Hatumoude is the first prayer of the year. So we went temple to pray something at Gantan or the next day of Gantan. I went near temple and I prayed and wished my children grow up well.
And Osechi is a name of dishes for new year. There is a custom not to cook for mother's rest between 1st and 3rd in January. So mothers prepare Osechi before the new year, and we eat only Osechi between 1st and 3rd in January. But acutually I hate to have same foods for 3 days , so we have some other foods :)
Koma and Tako are familiar with play of new year. Playing Tako need large space without electric wires, therefore it's a little difficule to play Tako around my house. My sons played that at my wife's parent house, and this morning my elder son was playing koma with his classmates at preschool.

I was asked by a friend how to type Hiragana yesterday. But I didn't know how to setup the PC to type Japanese, because I use the Operation System of Japanese Edition so I can type Japanese from the first. So I asked google and found a page. He could become to type Japanese refering to the page, I think you will become to type it. A happy New Year. Yoi otoshiwo!

Gorgious Christmas Tree

六本木ヒルズに一億円のクリスマスツリーがあります。とても高いですね。でも大阪に1億5000万円のクリスマスツリーがあるそうです。高さが1.5メートル、21キログラムで、沢山のプラチナやダイヤモンド、真珠が使われています。4人の職人が3ヶ月かけて作りました。驚いたことに、このツリーは買えるようです。誰が買うんでしょうね。


ろっぽんぎヒルズに１おくえんのクリスマスツリーがあります。とてもたかいですね。でもおおさかに１おく5000まんえんのクリスマスツリーがあるそうです。たかさが1.5メートル、21キログラムで、たくさんのプラチナやダイヤモンド、しんじゅがつかわれています。４にんのしょくにんが３かげつかけてつくりました。おどろいたことに、このツリーはかえるようです。だれがかうんでしょうね。

There is 100 million yen christmas tree at Roppongi Hills. Hmm, It's so expensive. But there is 150 millon yen christmas tree at Osaka. It's is 1.5 meters long, 21 kilogram, and it's with many plutinums, many diamonds, many pearl. 4 workmans had created for 3 months.To my surprise, this one can be bought. Who can buy it.

A foolish English-Japanese dictionaly

英和の辞書サイトをみつけました。"you"と入れて検索してみました。結果は”手前、おまえさん、お宅、ユー、まろ”。何コレ？ :D この辞書おかしいよ。もしこのサイトを使ってるなら、たぶん変な日本語を使うとおもうよ。”まろは？” :D
面白い？
ちなみに、私は英和、和英辞書としてALCを使ってます。


えいわのじしょサイトをみつけました。”you”といれてけんさくしてみました。けっかは”てまえ、おまえさん、おたく、ゆー、まろ”。なにこれ？:D このじしょおかしいよ。もしこのサイトをつかってるなら、たぶんへんなにほんごをつかうとおもうよ。”まろは？” :D

I found a free site of English-Japanese dictionary. I entered "you" and searched. That result is "temae, omaesan, otaku, yu-, maro".What is this? :D This dictionary is so funny. If you've used this site, your Japanese may be so funny, "maro ha?":D

Geek Test

Geek Testやってみました。ちょっとおかしいテストで、一般の人向けではなさそうです。
30％のギークでした :)　それで十分です :)
でも、ひとつ意味不明なものがありました。
"web-com girls"です。これは何？

"fish heads"を教えてもらいました。
全部聞き取れるか挑戦してみたけど、できませんでした。
ちょっと難しいみたい。

それで"fish heads"の奇妙な歌詞ができました :D


I was tought about "fish heads".

Ichou

It's getting cold in Tokyo these days. It is warm at the daytime, but a little cold in the morning.

Many falled leaves of Ichou(銀杏 Ginkgo) have covered on the streat. This picture was token by me when I was going preschool with 2 sons. The tree of mark of Tokyo is Ginnan, so there are many Ichou tree in Tokyo.

The seed of Ichou is called Ginnan(銀杏). Icho and Ginnan are same Kanji, but they are different pronunciation. So Nobody can distiguish Ginnan from Ichou by Kanji.

Talking in Japanese.

I have waken up at 6 AM JST from Monday to Friday if I can.
Because I've heard the basic english lesson of NHK radio .
So I'm free these time almost(if I could wake up) for 30 minutes.

最近

食べ物の話しじゃないことも書こうかと。

この2日間くらい、skypeで主に外国の人とチャットをさせてもらっています。
自分の英語の勉強と相手の人の日本語の勉強を兼ねてなのですが、本当に楽しいです。
USやカナダ、UK、オーストラリア、海外にいた日本人と、中国人。
人種はなんだかわかりませんし、知りません（笑）。

中にはすごく上手に漢字を使う人もいるし、来月日本に来る人とか、
来年の夏から一年日本に住んでその後も住もうと思っている人とか。

そういった日本に興味を持っている人達だからなのか、
すごく暖かく感じられとても嬉しいです。

Christmas tree on the building

I saw a very big christmas tree at Akasaka before some day ago.
It's little blurred tree, I grasped what is it at a glance.
Can you find a tree?

This building name is "Akasaka Prince Hotel". One of the famous hotel in Tokyo, and it is famous for wedding party too.
My parents and my wife's parents saw at the restaurant of this hotel about 10 years ago.
